006-018 THE OLD TOWN HALL 1. The Old Town Hall seen from the east. 2.-3. The ancient horloge made by Hanus of Ruze at the end of the 15th century. The lower part shows the 12 signs of the zodiac with scenes of country life by Josef Manes. 4. The house U Minuty forming the southern wing of the Town Hall is adorned by sgraffiti of the 17th century. 5. The oldest and still original hall is the Council Hall in its 15th century shape. The walls bear the emblem of the city of Prague in various stages of development and emblems of city guilds and burghers. 6. Facing the Old Town Hall is the other dominance of the Old Town Square, the Tyne Church. The square serves today, just as in the past, for important gatherings of the people of Prague. 7. For 600 years the Old Town Hall has risen above the picturesque array of the narrow streets of the Old Town as the first Town Hall in the Bohemian Lands and a silent witness of the history of Prague.
