006-023 THE PRAGUE GARDENS 1. The Paradise Garden was founded in the eta of Rudolph II. It is adorned with a Renaissance staircase and garden arbour with the 39 emblems of the empire of the Emperor Matyáš. 2.-3. Of interest in the garden Na valech (On the vallum) are two early Baroque style obelisques, put there in commemoration of the defenestration in 1618 and the Empire style house of the Castle Guards. 4. The Wallenstein Garden - founded in 1627 - is closed in by a salla terrena, one of the most beautiful of its kind. A loggia grotta, gardinetta, bronze fountain and numerous sculptures adorn this palace garden. 5. The Kolovrat Garden, founded in 1780, is a typical palace terrace type of garden. 6. The Vrtba Garden, which was built in 1720 on the slope of a former vineyard is a typical example of a Baroque garden. The sculptures, adorning the terrena are the work of Mathias Braun. 7. The, Fürstenberg Garden, also a terrace type of garden, forms a harmonious complex with typical staircases, fountains and pavilions from the end of the 18th century.
